From Drawings to Lantern Light Arts!
Lumi's Utopia is a world full of lights, love, and hope. Let Lumi transform your 2D drawing into a larger-than-life, handcrafted 3D sculpture! This year, LumioCity is teaming up with the Long Island Children's Museum to invite you on an imaginary journey as you design and draw "Sweet Dreams" for a chance to have your drawing turned into a light-art sculpture featured at our 2024 LuminoCity Holiday Lights Festival!
The LICM workshops offered young participants the chance to learn about the history and artistry of traditional lantern-making. These workshops, combined with the online submission option, gathered an imaginative collection of artwork.
Participants will be introduced to the history and process of lantern making while creating their own unique composition inspired by the theme “Sweet Dreams.” In collaboration with LuminoCity, participants’ 2-D artwork will be submitted for a chance to have it brought to life as a 3-D light sculpture featured on display at the 2024 LuminoCity Festival.
See these drawings come to life at the 2024 Luminocity Holiday Festival!
